In 2005, Skyler began her career behind the chair. After completing the required hours to become a licensed cosmetologist, Skyler entered Mario Tricoci’s apprenticeship program and continued her career there for 8 years. During her time at Tricoci, she obtained different certifications, attended a multitude of classes to advance her education, and worked behind the stage for runway shows and photo shoots. One year after leaving MT, Skyler was chosen out of 50+ applicants to apprentice celebrity hairstylist, Anthony Cristiano, and be a part of the flagship staff to open his salon in Trump Tower Chicago. During her time with Anthony, she fine tuned precision haircutting, hairstyling, and gained more experience assisting on photo shoots and in editorial work. After moving out of the heart of Chicago, Skyler dove into furthering her color education and bridal work. She began working for Ben E. Salon, an Aveda salon in the northwest suburbs. There she was able to take more color classes, experiment with new techniques and trends, and also became a specialist in men’s haircutting by learning from master stylist Vance Koerten. Currently, Skyler is a freelance hair artist who specializes in bridal hair, hair painting (balayage), and precision haircutting and styling.
